Avery Kinney
Receptionist and Database Assistant
Avery Kinney joined the Partnership in May 2007 as Receptionist and Database Assistant.
Prior to joining the Partnership, Avery worked for The Branlik Strategy Group an association management firm in Washington, D.C. He started his career with Branlik as a Course and Conference Registrar in 1999, and in 2003 he began managing the front office and provided admin support to the executive staff at Branlik.
Avery gained experience working in the government as a contract working in a call center at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda. His interest in working in the not for profit arena came from working as a Program & Database Specialist at the National Association of Local Churches. In that capacity he assisted in managing data entry in a system called iMIS in which he has extensive experience managing and providing front-end user support. He also managed projects and programs administratively designed to educate the faith-based community the NALC’s goals and various programs faith-based initiatives.
Upon graduating from Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, Md., Avery studied for one year at Bowie State University in Bowie, Md. His initial educational pursuit was to be a special education teacher. Through experience gained in his career path, he developed an interest in Human Resources and took online classes through the Society for Human Resources Management to work towards obtaining a designation as a “Professional in Human Resources” (PHR). Avery’s studies in Human Resources are in concert with his desire to someday open staffing agency that is focused on contract recruiting for not-for-profit organizations.
