Ellen Perlman joined the Partnership in February 2011 as a writer and editor for Communications. Prior to joining the organization, she worked as a freelance consultant, writer and editor for clients such as the state of California, the National Association of State Chief Information Officers, The Washington Post and several other associations, newspapers and nonprofits.

Before going out on her own, Ellen was a staff writer, columnist and blogger for Governing, a national magazine for state and local government officials.

Ellen earned a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University and a B.A. from Brandeis University, and spent her junior year at Exeter University in England.

The Partnership for Public Service is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that works to revitalize our federal government by inspiring a new generation to serve and by transforming the way government works.
