Michael D. Eisner served as Chief Executive Officer for The Walt Disney Company from 1984 to 2005. In this position, he sought to revitalize the organization and make it a full spectrum entertainment company. Annual revenues in that time grew from $1.7 billion to more than $25 billion, as the company re-established its brand leadership, acquired ABC, opened new parks and entered several new entertainment areas. Eisner encouraged employees to become community volunteers and helped enhance community concerns for the environment.
He serves on the boards of numerous civic and philanthropic organizations. He established and funded The Eisner Foundation, a philanthropic organization headed by his wife, Jane.
