General P. X. Kelley
U.S. Marine Corps (Ret.)
General Kelley is the former Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps and a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. During his thirty-seven year military career, he commanded Marine Corps organizations at every echelon from platoon through division and remains the youngest Marine to be promoted to the rank of General. In 1979, General Kelley was appointed by the President as the first Commander of the Rapid Deployment Joint Task Force, which became the U.S. Central Command.
He has earned numerous military decorations including Distinguished Service Medals from the Department of Defense, the Department of the Navy, the Department of the Army, and the Department of the Air Force, the Silver Star Medal, three awards of the Legion of Merit, and two awards of the Bronze Star Medal. General Kelley is also the recipient of numerous awards from other organizations in recognition of his distinguished service to his country. He is currently a Partner with J.F. Lehman & Company, an investment firm in New York and Washington D.C., and serves as a director with a number of corporations.
General Kelley is also Chairman Emeritus of The Irish American Partnership, Vice Chairman of the National Legal Center for the Public Interest, and a Governor of the NFL Alumni.
General Kelley holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from Villanova University. He is a Distinguished Graduate of the Air War College, and has received several honorary doctoral degrees.
