On February 2nd, Manhattan’s young glitterati kicked off Fashion Week by answering the call to Go Public! at the Partnership’s benefit event at Cipriani 23rd Street in New York City.
About 375 Young Associates of the Partnership were on hand to mix, mingle and raise awareness about the importance of public service to the next generation of leaders. Honorary co-chair Andrew Cuomo, former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, served as the keynote speaker and set the tone for this festive evening of inspiration and action. By evening’s end, Go Public! 2006 raised more than $70,000 for the Partnership.
Now in its second year, Go Public! was created by the children of Partnership founder Samuel J. Heyman and his wife Ronnie.
Thanks to the outstanding leadership and hard work of co-chairs Larry Heyman, Eleanor Propp, Elizabeth Winter, and Jennifer Millstone, along with their spouses – Kim Heyman, Rodney Propp, David Winter and David Millstone – Go Public! gives the Partnership an invaluable opportunity to introduce a vibrant, young audience to the organization’s efforts to inspire a new generation to serve in government and transform the way government works.
The guest list for Go Public! 2006 was a veritable who’s who of New York’s young professionals and socialites, including Vanessa and Donald Trump, Jr., Reed and Delphine Krakoff, Alexander and Bara Tisch, Jessica and Lacey Tisch, Christian Leone, Andrew Black, Jordan Roth, Richie Jackson, Todd Meister, Samantha Gregory, Shauna Brook, Fiona Thomas, Michelle Stein, and Sarah Rothman.
This year’s raffle included a host of fabulous prizes, among them New York Yankees tickets, a foursome at a Trump International Golf course, theatre tickets, haute couture from designers Alberta Ferretti and Marc Jacobs, and a magnificent diamond pendant that would even make Anna Wintour blush.
The Partnership for Public Service is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that works to revitalize our federal government by inspiring a new generation to serve and by transforming the way government works.
