PARTNERSHIP FOR PUBLIC SERVICE APPOINTS NEW VICE-PRESIDENT FOR GOVERNMENT TRANSFORMATION, TINA SUNG

WASHINGTON – The Partnership for Public Service today announced that Tina Sung, a nationally recognized leader in workplace performance, has joined the Partnership as Vice President for Government Transformation. With more than twenty years of experience, Sung will lead the Partnership’s efforts to transform the way the federal government works.

“The addition of Tina Sung is a coup for the Partnership for Public Service – and the federal  government,” said Max Stier President and CEO of the Partnership for Public Service. “Her experience and expertise is a perfect match to our mission to revitalize the government. We are delighted that Tina is now a member of our team.”

Prior to joining the Partnership, Sung founded and served as President of Synergy Works LLC, which provides leadership and management consulting services to the federal government, NGOs and Fortune 500 companies. She also founded a second company, Experience Matters: the Executive Transition Experts.

Sung is the immediate past President and CEO of the American Society for Training and Development, the world’s leading association of professionals specializing in workforce learning and performance.

While serving in government, Sung co-created the Federal Quality Institute, a driving force for bringing quality principles to government during the Reagan/Bush administrations, and was appointed the Executive Director of the Federal Quality Consulting Group in the Department of the Treasury.

In addition, Sung served six years as an advisor to the Office of the Vice President’s National Performance Review and the National Partnership for Reinventing Government during the Clinton administration. She was Staff Director of the Federal Advisory Committee on Excellence in Customer Satisfaction and oversaw the introduction of the American Customer Satisfaction Index in the federal government. Prior to that, she held key positions in the Social Security Administration, and in the Department of Health and Human Services.

A cum laude Princeton University graduate, Sung completed Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government Program for Senior Managers, and participated in the prestigious President’s Executive Exchange Program sponsored by the White House.

The Partnership for Public Service works to revitalize the federal government by inspiring a new generation to serve and by transforming the way government works. For more information, visit www.ourpublicservice.org.
