PARTNERSHIP FOR PUBLIC SERVICE NAMES NEW VP FOR RESEARCH

Washington, D.C. – The Partnership for Public Service announced that Robert J. Lavigna has joined the Partnership as its new Vice President for Research. In his new position, Lavigna will lead the development of the Partnership’s series of research reports, original surveys, and special projects including the Best Places to Work in the Federal Government rankings.

“The addition of Bob Lavigna is a huge boost for the Partnership for Public Service,” said Partnership President Max Stier. “Bob not only brings experience and expertise to our organization, but, more important, he brings an uncommon energy and a deep, personal commitment to our cause of revitalizing our federal government. We are delighted that he is now a member of our team.”

Prior to joining the Partnership, Lavigna served as Senior Manager of Consulting Services – East for CPS Human Resources Services, a self-supporting public agency that provides human resources services to government and nonprofits. Previously, Lavigna served for ten years as Administrator of the state of Wisconsin merit system. Before being appointed to his Wisconsin position by the Governor, Lavigna served with the U.S. Government Accountability Office for 17 years.

Governing magazine named Lavigna as a “Public Official of the Year” in 2000.  He has a B.A. in Public Affairs from George Washington University and an M.S. in Human Resources from Cornell University.
