PARTNERSHIP FOR PUBLIC SERVICE APPLAUDS REPS. JOHN SARBANES, FRANK WOLF AND GERRY CONNOLLY FOR INTRODUCING "THE TELEWORK IMPROVEMENTS ACT OF 2009"

WASHINGTON – The Partnership for Public Service released the following statement applauding Reps. John Sarbanes (D-MD), Frank Wolf (R-VA) and Gerry Connolly (D-VA) for introducing legislation that will encourage telework in the federal government:

“With the unprecedented challenges facing our country, it is imperative that we maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of the federal sector. To do this, we must be committed to innovative, creative and thoughtful solutions on how best to achieve the results the American people deserve.

The Partnership for Public Service applauds Representatives Sarbanes, Wolf and Connolly for their leadership in introducing legislation that will promote and expand the use of telework in executive agencies. Telework is not simply a personnel benefit; it is smart business and an effective management tool. Continued measurement of the effectiveness of agency telework policies will serve as a valuable tool moving forward and, we are confident, will show both the qualitative and quantitative benefits of telework.”
