PARTNERSHIP FOR PUBLIC SERVICE APPLAUDS REP. JOHN SARBANES FOR PUBLIC LOAN FORGIVENESS PROGRAM
WASHINGTON –The Partnership for Public Service released the following statement commending the leadership of Congressman John Sarbanes (D-MD) for launching the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program and Income-Based Repayment (IBR) plan:
“The Partnership for Public Service applauds Congressman Sarbanes for his efforts to encourage more young people to work in the public sector. The Income Based Repayment plan combined with Public Service Loan Forgiveness Option, will make it easier for individuals with high levels of debt to pursue careers in public service. These programs are particularly important given the rising costs of higher education and competition from the private sector for highly-skilled talent.”
