PARTNERSHIP FOR PUBLIC SERVICE APPLAUDS ADMINISTRATION FOR EFFORTS TO FIX THE FEDERAL HIRING PROCESS
WASHINGTON –Partnership for Public Service Vice President for Education and Outreach Tim McManus released the following statement today applauding the Administration’s efforts to eliminate long-standing barriers to recruiting and hiring top talent into the federal civilian workforce.
“Today, OPM and OMB took significant steps to ensure that our government can compete for the nation’s top talent. These reforms are critical to every government mission, because at its core, good government starts with good people.
We commend OPM Director John Berry and Chief Performance Officer Jeffrey Zients for their leadership and commitment to ensuring that government has the talent it needs to effectively serve the American people. The Partnership looks forward to working with OPM, OMB and federal agencies to implement these much-needed reforms.”
The announcement of the Administration’s recruitment and hiring reform initiative builds on the nearly year-long collaboration between OPM, OMB and agencies aimed at improving federal recruitment and streamlining the hiring process. The initiative seeks to make it easier for Americans to apply for federal jobs, engage hiring managers in recruitment and selection, and improve hiring timeliness and quality.
