Federal Advisor Trainings



The Partnership for Public Service, in collaboration with the National Association for Colleges and Employers (NACE), offers a one day interactive professional development training that equips you with the knowledge and resources needed to effectively advise students on the federal job search and application process. NACE, co-sponsor of this program, is an NBCC Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEPTM). This program is eligible for 6.5 credit hours. The Partnership will ask members to apply to host trainings in April 2010 for the 2010-2011 series.

Objectives

  • Learn how to navigate the federal process, including researching federal opportunities, deciphering federal applications and mastering KSA writing.
  • Identify best practices for building agency relationships by leveraging existing university relationships and strategically developing new long-term relationships.
  • Discuss ways to promote federal service in cost-effective and sustainable ways by involving the whole campus community and using on-campus stakeholders to promote federal service.

Call to Serve Webinar Workshop Series

The Partnership for Public Service offers a number of exciting, informative and free or low-cost webinar workshops for faculty and career services professionals at colleges and universities across the country. These interactive presentations, which generally last for one hour, cover a wide variety of topics including the "Five Steps of Federal Advising", federal student programs, KSA writing and security clearances.
